Charlie Higgs
Founder – Labour Law
Bcom, LLB, LLM (NWU)
Charlie Higgs is a director who specialises in labour law and has developed a keen interest in Labour Court litigation. Charlie completed degrees in Business Management and Law, LLB, and LLM in Labour Law at the North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus. He completed his LLM degree and School for Legal Practice Certificate with distinction in the same year. Thereafter he served his articles of clerkship under Sean Snyman at Snyman Attorneys.
He is passionate about endurance sports, hunting, reading, and spending time with his wife, family, and friends.

Jacques Brits

Jacques Brits obtained his LLB degree from the North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus in 2015. Jacques completed his articles of Clerkship at JJR Inc. attorneys and was admitted as an attorney of the North Gauteng High Court in January 2018. He has a keen interest in Labour Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Civil Litigation.
Jacques enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Nikita Schroeder

Nikita Schroeder obtained her LLB at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Nikita completed her articles of clerkship at Yusuf Nagdee Attorneys and was admitted as an attorney in the North Gauteng High Court in 2016.
Nikita has over the years developed a passion for labour law. Nikita joined Higgs Attorneys in October 2023.
Nikita is married, has two children, and loves spending time with her family.

Cleo du Toit
Candidate Attorney
BA LLB (UJ)
Cleo du Toit obtained a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Johannesburg. She then proceeded to obtain her LLB degree at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Cleo joined Higgs Attorneys in 2025 as a candidate attorney. She has a deep interest in labour law and is looking forward to growing her expertise in the dynamic field.
Cleo spends her free time with family, reading and partaking in various sports such as crossfit.
Thembi Vilakazi
General Worker
Thembi was born in Thembisa and went to school at Mqedandaba Junior Secondary School in Kwa-Zulu Natal. She is a mother of two boys. When she first moved to Johannesburg she worked in several garment stores before she joined Higgs Attorneys Inc. in 2016.
Thembi considers herself to be in an empowering environment and enjoys the time with her colleagues.
Themba Shilaluke
Driver / Messenger
Themba obtained a National Certificate of Computer Architecture at Rosebank College and joined Higgs Attorneys Inc. in 2016. He is a hardworking and determined individual who is more than willing to provide a high-quality service using the appropriate skills and experience to perform his duties as a messenger.
Themba is married and a father of two kids- a boy and a girl.
Amos Makuyana
General Maintenance Worker
Amos joined Higgs Attorneys Inc. in 2019. He manages the activities for the upkeep and repair of the buildings, landscapes and offices.
In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his family.
Amos is married and the father of two boys.
Sukaluhle Dibakwana
Receptionist
Suku, meaning pleasant day, was born in Winterveld and raised in the North-West Province. After she matriculated she moved to Johannesburg and started her first job with Spar Weltevredenpark in 1995. She then worked at a pre-school where after she joined the team at Higgs Attorneys Inc. in 2016.
Suku is a married mother of four girls and enjoys her responsibilities as receptionist but is eager to learn more and grow as an employee.
